Renewing travel insurance

My daughter has booked a family holiday for next August 2025 to Mexico - we are all paying our own costs. I currently have travel insurance which covers Europe and added Thailand at the beginning of this year for trip already taken last April. My current insurance is due to be renewed in February 2025. So far only a small deposit has been paid another smallish deposit due January 2025 and balance due May 2025. My question is should I upgrade my travel insurance NOW to include Mexico or can I leave it until renewal is due in February?

If you don't upgrade now and anything happens before Feb '25 which prevents you travelling, you will not be covered. It depends how much risk you are willing to take. I would upgrade now.

Does your insurance cover the whole group? If not you may only be covered if someone covered by your policy needs to cancel.
Group insurance is needed if you want to be covered if another party has to cancel and you wouldn't want to go without them.0 -
Why not find out the cost of the upgrade and compare that to the deposit?0
