I've been lying in bed looking at the stars which were twinkling away. I suppose the this means that it's cold outside.Yesterday turned out a little more interesting than expected. During storm Ashley a very expensive boat was blown onto rocks and the shore opposite my friend's house. On the way back from our (uneventful) shopping trip a huge crane had arrived to recover it. There was a great deal of activity with various blokes crawling around it. I watched for about an hour as the boom was removed. Once they started on the mast I left but was sent a series of photos afterwards. It was a very difficult and fascinating process. I'm sure that the boat will be a write-off.Yes, the leek and lentil soup was made. @Taff - I used one stalk, can't say if it added flavour or not though I'm pleased that I couldn't taste it. 😀 Whilst that was bubbling away I put on a white wash and finally a DW load, all in between bouts of idleness. Once I'm fully up and dressed this morning I'm going to my favourite wee cafe for one of their freshly made loaves. I'll slice it up to stash in the freezer and have with the soup.@DP1 - loved that your little one had pumpkin buns in her hair. It brought a smile to my heart.I hope that everyone has a good day.14

Good morning Gers and all to follow, thanks for starting.
It's damp here, yesterday was similar, mild and damp.
Had an ok day yesterday, and a friend came last night and we put the world to rights.
Going to see an amdram show this afternoon, this amateur company is always good, and that is the only thing we've got planned.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.13 -
Morning allFeels a bit cooler this morning. Baking a cake with Nigella frosting and then, if it stays dry, will clear some pots and plant spring bulbs. Managed to move a few bits in the garden yesterday then got sidetracked as I'd received a text to book a dental appointment that my dentist did a referral for on Wednesday to remove a tooth that had been grinded down a few years ago. Something to look forward to next Friday...NOTHope everyone has a good day and remembers to put the clocks back tonight x13

Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers (lying in bed looking at the stars sounds lovely).
Weather forecast is looking ok for today, so I'm hoping I can hang my load of washing outside (fingers crossed).
Hope you all have a good weekend. xx13 -
Morning Gers, thanks for starting us.
I didn't get on here yesterday, I woke with the most thumping headache that lasted most of the day, then I've been awake on and off all night coughing, so think I probably picked something up when I went shopping. Cant complain as I can't remember the last time I had a cold, so will put up with it.
Yesterday was a very dull day, with rain last night. It looks dull at the moment so will see what today brings.
No idea what's for dinner, don't know if I'll feel like eating. Today is definitely going to be slobbing Saturday.
Love and hugs to all who need them, take care all x12 -

Morning all. Dull but dry here today.
Yesterday DD brought the elder grandson over so we walked into town for toasted teacakes and then she helped me set up my new laptop. I still have a few bits of tidying up to do with it and then it will be ready to use. We also agreed to go and help take some stuff to the tip for them next week and bring some old baby clothes down from the loft. She has taken the week off work, seeing as its half term, and wants to make the most of it.
Today will be pottering about and then this evening we're off to a Morris Ale in Bedford. Ales happen during the winter season; one side will organise/host and invite other sides they know to spend an evening dancing, with a break for a cooked meal in the middle. I love spending the evening playing for the dances, in a group of musicians, some of whom I'll know and others I'll have never met before, but we all know the same tunes! Next Saturday I'm off to do the same thing at Limehouse Town Hall, hosted by a side I've come across occasionally but don't know very well so that should be fun too.
I hope everyone else has a great weekend and enjoy your extra hour in bed tomorrow.10 -
