I'm considering passing on one of my laptops to my son, however, how do you change the password to get into it. It's running Win10.
TIA
David.

go to settings then accounts and click password0

You could just create him a new account with its own password and then also keep yours.0

Also on that page a link to how to reset a forgotten one....but is that what you want to do or ( having copied off your data! ) delete your account on that specific PC?0

1. from your account create a separate local admin account (under "other users" and tick the boxes "I don't have the other user's microsoft details")
2. logoff your account and log in to the new account
3. delete your account (again under "other users") ** assuming you've saved everything you need to.
4. if your son wants his account to be a microsoft account then change the local admin account to a microsoft accountIf you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0
