Independent carpet inspector

Hi there, I had a carpet fitted a week ago and it is proven to be a nightmare: I have scratch marks left along the carpet (appeared to be due to inappropriate use of a tool), baggy areas everywhere, and an area badly wrinkled/creased. The conversation with the store is not going very well, they are happy to refit it, but avoiding answer the one million question - has the carpet been permanently damaged and not repairable/or not economical to repair, and a new carpet is required. The carpet is rather expensive and I saved quite a while to get it so very stressed and unhappy at the moment.
I start thinking perhaps I need to have an independent report done - could someone advise where I could locate a independent carpet inspector please? I found WoolSafe through search but that seems focused more on carpet cleaning and related faults. Can anyone help, please?

Why not let them refit it and worry about it afterwards if it doesn't look right then?

because it is not just the look, but also the durability, which can be hard to tell at the beginning. They are reluctant to answer that query, which makes me think it is permanently damaged. My concern is, if I let them refit, will it make the problem more complicated?

If they have not looked at the carpet where it is, then they can not make a judgement.mochi310 said:because it is not just the look, but also the durability, which can be hard to tell at the beginning. Yes you can get a 3rd party out. But you will have to pay, & if they say it is OK. That is money lost.Life in the slow lane1 -
Understood. So the way forward is: let them look at, see what they say. Even if I think some of it is BS, I should let them go ahead of doing it, then complain again, and asking them to rectify it again, or refund me (and this is when I need a third party inspector?) thanks again. This seems to be a long long process and your advice is appreciatedborn_again said:
