Does anyone know how to get a wrong address corrected or removed on energy quote websites. Ecoes and xoserve are correct but the website is still wrong. Who hosts the central address database.

Royal mail is correct and has been for 10 years.

Good luck with that! I haven't been able to even get my address corrected at all. They use different addresses for gas and electricity so I can't use the comparison sites properly.

How did you get it fixed up to this point? It would be useful to know.

I contacted the comparison sites data protection officers. Uswitch and compare the market were excellent. There were two different incorrect addresses. One held with comparison sites and the other with energy companies.

I went through the energy ombudsman to get xoserve and ecoes corrected but some main energy companies have not refreshed the quote websites. I have put complaints on resolver so after 8 weeks I will refer the to the energy ombudsman.

The data protection officer at one company is working on the issue but it is taking a long time. Ive been trying to get the issue corrected for 5 months now. I don't think anyone should have to go through this. I'm considering contacting watchdog because addreses should match royal mail and people should not be allowed to set up an account without proof of address. Hope this helps.
