Getting travel insurance from outside UK when travelling to Australia next year

I have a dilemma. My friend and I live in the UK but will spend a few nights in Ireland before our journey. I decided to buy my tickets to fly out to Australia from Dublin return. This made most sense. Now I see that insurance only covers travel from UK! Can anyone help?

So your having a holiday that includes both Ireland and Australia, just buy the travel insurance from the date you leave the UK to the date you return to the UK declaring it covering the two countries.3

Not seeing the issue if you are starting a multi stop holiday from the UK. The flights don't have to be continuous to be valid.0

Thanks for the replies. The problem is that I have bought separate tickets for the Dublin flight and the Australia flight. Insurance companies are telling me the entire flight needs to start from UK and connecting flights are not covered. So I would only be covered from Glasgow to Dublin!0

If connecting flights are not included then try another insurer. I frequently have connecting flights and I'm covered.0

Some insurers only cover the first and last leg of flights, others will cover all flights during a holiday. Just need to go for a better quality product.Love_to_trave1 said:Thanks for the replies. Who have you used in the past? I have tried several companies. The problem is that the journey to Dublin is booked completely separately. So I would only be insured for the UK-Dublin journey.marcia_ said:If connecting flights are not included then try another insurer. I frequently have connecting flights and I'm covered.
