Ryanair flight to Spain. Name is slightly different compared to what is on the passport.

Sister booked a flight. Her name is "Lisa-Marie" and that's what is on her passport. She booked under just "Lisa" as that's what she always goes by. £115 to change it.
Do you reckon they'll even notice at the airport?

If her name had been "Lisa Marie" - ie two names then there wouldn't be a problem as "Marie" would be a middle name, but "Lisa-Marie" is one first name and it's not the same as "Lisa" so there will be problems. Even if the airline allowed her on board, immigration at her destination may refuse entry and send her back on the next flight - at her expense
Suggest she contacts Ryanair by social media before coughing up for a name change0 -
She may get away with it. Lots of people have two surnames, sometimes double barrelled and sometimes not, so the airlines are used to this sort of thing, she may get away with it, though RyanAir may be more of a stickler than others. One of those difficult situations where asking the question may give you an unwanted answer, whereas winging it would probably work.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Immigration at her destination would not be remotely interested.

Well done - Ryanair are not noted for being so "understanding" from what I've seen on this forum.JadeHighland said:Thanks for the reply all. Contacted Ryanair and they changed it for free.
