I have just been told by someone that I need to remember to change the clock in my car when the clocks go back on Sunday. This is because if the Police stop me and my clock is not correct, then I can be fined and receive 3 penalty points.
This sounds like sensational fake news created by a newspaper and I have said so, but the person who told me is quite emphatic that it's true and just won't stop talking about it!  But when asked to show me the report, they cannot find news reports on their phone after being viewed.
Does anyone know anything about this? I need to shut this nonsense down quick.
    Says it all.
  • I believe you can also get points and be fined for forgetting to post a letter.

I read a report where a driver was given a letter which his boss had asked him to post on his way home from work. He forgot to post it and it was not until he was driving to work the next morning that he noticed the letter still on his passenger seat. He knew it was important so he picked up his phone and rang the recipient to tell them it was on its way.

A patrol car spotted him and he got a £200 fine and six points - all because he forgot to post a letter.   :)

Just as in the past people were heavily fined for going out to buy fish and chips. The car had no tax, insurance or MOT and they had been banned from driving.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

You could put the radio on. There’s usually time checks every so often

    I don't any more.

I wore one from age 11 until I was 60, only taking it off to clean it and when I had a hot bath.
Suddenly, (co-incidentally after all those vaccinations for the C-word) I have developed allergies to pretty much everything, and even my hypo-allergenic titanium watch (that I had worn for 15 years) causes my skin to blister now.

Now I only put a watch on if I'm going to an appointment, so I can clockwatch all the way there.

It has taken some getting used to, having to look at the clock on the mantlepiece instead of at my wrist ;)
