I'm thinking of opening sub-6% regular savers, particularly fixed rate ones, and just funding them with the minimum required just for somewhere to dump a few quid in a few months time should interest rates fall to the point where 5% if competitive.jaypers said:I think they will eventually settle to around 3%. For savings, I’ve been hedging my bets a bit and shifted a fair bit of easy access money towards fixed accounts and more recently started piling into some Regular Savers, which seem to be making a huge reemergence with decent rates,

....and if Trump wins the Presidency, and if he withdraws support for Ukraine and Europe can't fill the gap and if Russia win, etc. If the Middle East flares up etc. Seems most of the votes for a drop in interest rates assume the world order remains as is, unchanged. I don't have that much confidence......but we can't talk politics even though there is a strong link between it & interest rates.2
