How to work out income
Options
I am thinking of applying for DRO. When I fill in income do I put the whole amount on my U/C claim. I am currently on a joint claim for U/C with my partner. I also give him £150 for his bills from the claim because obviously part of the money is his. How do I go about taking that money off? Neither one of us work at the min.

Declare everything to your intermediary but they will take half of a joint benefit as your income0

Do you share any debts? i.e. does the council tax or water bill have both your names on it? If that's the case your partner might need to do a DRO as well as otherwise the council or water company will come after him for the full debt. They won't right off 50%.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
