Home insurance

I am hoping for advice. My son bought a house in June this year and, before relocating, is renting it out short term. When he rang to arrange landlord insurance the insurance company said their records showed a previous insurance claim for escape of water in 2021. Strangely, it was in his name but for our address. Although he lives with us, he has never been on any insurance policy for our home address. We have never made any claim on our home insurance.
We are wondering if this claim was made for the property he has just bought. Unfortunately, the previous owner died and the property was empty for the following year, so we can't check with them.
Can anyone advise how we can get information regarding this and how we can have the relevant records changed?
Thanks

Ask them if it's their records or the records on CUE and do a DSAR to the relevant organisation depending on their response.
Could your son maybe have been doing quotes "for fun" and added a EoW claim to see what impact it had?0 -
Thanks, we will try to get the relevant information from the insurers. No he definitely didn't add any claim for fun. The insurers had his name and our address, the date of the claim and sum claimed, none of which we recognised. This is the first time he has applied for house insurance so not sure where this has come from.0

Do your son and his dad have similar names?
it could be that simple0 -
Thanks
No, my son is Timothy and husband Steven. But even if the names were mixed up, we haven't ever claimed on our house insurance.0
