Debt Recovery Plus text

Hi,

I have seen a few threads on here about these guys but was wanting additional advice if anyone could?

my wife got a text from DRP saying we owed money for a parking fine. The car reg was one we sold 5 months ago. We also moved house 7 months ago but didn’t change log book address as we sold the car. We paid for 3 months of post being forwarded and the owners of old house often send post on to us still. We received no letter in this time.

I am not sure if this debt is attached to us as we have no information about the time, date or place of the alleged parking offence and no longer own the car.

stupidly tried to call them but they refused to give any information as I refused to give my line or my wife’s name, I  assumed the fact I had the reference number and pcn would be enough to get them to provide some information, but they refused.

Any advice?

Silly thing to not alter the address with DVLA, you now have the potential for two months of PCn's or what ever floating around and what address did you use on the documents when you sold the car? Are you sure the buyer did their part of the change of ownership?
Coming from DRP it won't be a parking "offence" it is most likely a private parking charge not a fine.
If you don't engage with DRP now they will do a trace if you are lucky, but the PPC won't and could get a default judgement against you but you won't know anything about it until it's too late!
  • The driving licence address was changed so traceable.

I have no way of contacting them apart from calling and I have no info over what the aim is about

Contact DVLA and find out who has asked for your wife's details.

Changing your DL does not change the V5C which is the important document to change!

Why do you think a person's driving licence details have anything to do with a vehicle keeper details?

    You could email them at:
    info@drpl.co.uk
With the reference number and ask them, but you actually need them and the PPC to know your address or it will not end well, though DRP are useless idiots that can't do diddly squat.

It is not. Nobody gets access to your driving licence data.

Just email DRP (quoting their ref) with your new address and tell them to erase the old address and write only by post to the new one.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You may wish to also say in the email that The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) recently warned the public to
"Never click on weblinks or respond to text messages about parking fines.”
