Just made a quick coffee.
Don't know what the weather is doing, it seems dry and quiet, yesterday was a nice day.
I delivered the birthday card to my old friend yesterday, but it wasn't quick - she had the kettle on when I went in, and had a few things to tell me, so I was there over an hour! No harm done, I wasn't in a hurry.
TA, hope you're ok after the funeral yesterday. We are going to one this afternoon, the mother of a friend, the poor woman had had a long illlness.
I too am dithering about which coat to wear.
Hope Mr WL gets his procedure over with without any problems WL.
Taff and Ruby, hope you are both feeling better, also thoughts to anyone else who isn't well.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.12 -
Morning All
Dry but breezy this morning, I'm dithering as to whether to put the washing out, there's a white load just finishing.
Hope the funeral went as well as it could TA, I'm sure you paying your respects is more important than what you wear.
That would be a late drive for you Gers, hope you enjoyed the theatre.
Some poorly folk about on here, sending get well wishes.
I had to go to the doctor yesterday as I've been having pains in my tummy on and off which are so painful I can hardly breathe. Anyway, I had a blood test (she failed twice in one arm) and having to hand in some samples she thinks I have gall stones, the tests may show any abnormalities. If it happens again I've to phone NHS 24 and follow their advice and will check in with the doc next week to get any results.
I've a meeting after work for the new allotment - we're going to open a bank account so we can apply for grants, etc. Hope it doesn't take too long.
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Going by the forecast we are due another nice day, up to 15 deg. Long may it last.
SIL's funeral yesterday didn't end up the ordeal I expected it to be. And the worry about the all black clothing dress code wasn't really necessary. Granted the chief mourners and their families were all dressed in black but the rest of those attending were in an array of colours. There were far more there than I expected and the wake ended up too noisy for my liking. DS's DP picked us up about 6.00 pm and by then I was all to ready to leave.
Today I had better make a start on a few neglected jobs. I've been too busy trying on clothes the last few days! When I live in the same clothes most of the time I really don't need all these extra clothes and it's time for a lot to go.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. CAMELOT I hope your test results are back soon and not too worrying. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Hi all
TA glad it went off ok, hope you can have a quiet day
Bdog is off for a haircut at lunchtime so might be a quick lunch in the nearby country park cafe - I’ll take him for a muddy walk first thing before he gets spruced up!Found a large plant pot that obviously succumbed to the high winds at the weekend so will need to clear that up later plus some other outdoor things while it’s dry. There will no doubt be a number of windfall apples to collect - I already feel like I look like an apple and the freezer is starting to bulge at the seams with tubs of stewed ones. They do get used, and last year lasted all the way through until we started picking again in August.Take care all

Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.Yes @Camelot, it was a mad drive which I won't be doing again. ☹️ Your pain sounds awful, I hope you get a quick result. When I had gallstones the main pain was in my shoulder blades. Apparently it's not as weird as it sounds. Anyway, I'm thinking of you.
Physio appointment was good, she's referred me to the orthopaedic surgeons to investigate my dodgy 'new' hip. Now my fingers are crossed that the wait won't be too long. Of course, the red cabbage wasn't made, I will do it this morning, inertia must be overcome. It only takes minutes to chop up and stick in a pan.@Ruby - I'm so glad that you enjoyed the Mars exhibition, I'm so jealous that you saw it but happy that it was as wonderful as I expected.@TA - phew! Such anxiety-inducing stuff is so unnecessary and pointless. There's a faintly pink dawn appearing so it's time to be active. 😀 I hope that everyone is safe and warm. My gilet is coming back out for the season.8 -
Morning, just getting light but very still and dry.
We did our helping out yesterday, we didn't mind as we have been neighbours for 13 years and in all that time they have only asked for help once. I did the shopping which wasn't too much and I was going for us anyway. I realised that it was my first shop in a week. The old me used to pop to the shops every other day. I'm much more organised now and the bank account is looking much better for it.
TA I'm glad yesterday went as well as it could.
Camelot fingers crossed you get your results soon.
Taff I forgot to say you extension is lovely, I'm jealous.
Ruby hope you're feeling better today.
Love and hugs to all who need them, take care all x9 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Look like it's going to be a sunny day, have walk and talk this morning and gardener coming this afternoon.
I planted a large pot with winter pansies and cyclamen yesterday, hopefully it will give a bit of colour.
TA pleased the funeral went well.
Take care

Morning all from a dull Mehefinland
haven't posted for a few days, just been pootling along doing bits and pieces. Been walking the dogs for my friends( with another lady who is a dog boarder). The corgi has a ball fixation and will chase it for ever. Amazing how fast he runs for a smallish dog - well he's small to me but I'm used to Labradors! His huge ears go flat against his head and he's off.. I thought the ears may act as airbrakes as they are so big lol but it's not so.
Put away what garden furniture I could squeeze into the shed yesterday- I had intended to oil it before storing but the weather hasn't played ball. Will have to do it in the spring now.
Think I may have found the elusive bag of jewelry that Dawn had stashed safely - just need to excavate the wardrobe now to see if I'm right.
Binned a whole pile of her medical documents which we had to request from her GP when she did something with her pension. No point keeping them and it did bring a lump to my throat and a tear or two too. I couldn't face dealing with the paperwork from when she officially finished work in March- it was just that step too far.
I never realised she had SO many scarves and shawls - I don't even remember seeing her wear any. There's enough to open a small shop -or so it seems. Ditto tee shirts, blouses, knitwear. And we have enough saddles, tack and related stuff to open another!! That will be a winter job to sort through.
Still waiting to hear about the replacement part for the Rayburn. Good job I have other forms of heating and cooking or I would be in a right pickle.
Speaking of which my Mum always made pickled red cabbage to go with the hot-pot. I can see it now in a great stone jar ( I think a mincemeat jar) . More apples coming my way here too .
Hugs and spoons as always
