Laminate Flooring advice and opinions

I recently had some laminate flooring fitted by a professional. I'm not happy with the beading. I've attached photos. Some of the staples are visible some are sticking out. In one part there is a clear gap between the beading and the floor. I've not paid in full yet. Am I being fussy or is it poor work?
I made him aware of the issue (I wasn't at home when it was completed). I received a curt reply "people make mistakes!"
Thanks

What a mess!   How could anyone think that is an acceptable standard of work?

Professional what? Bodger. I wouldn't be paying any more money until the "mistakes" are rectified.

Stick to your guns - that mess is totally unacceptable.  Only remedy will be to remove all of the beading and replace it with new stuff.  I hope the actual flooring is ok?
  • The actual flooring looks nice, funnily enough he can't make it today!

I would be asking someone, friend?, neighbour? to come and have a good look at the job and comment on the actual flooring because if he has made such a mess of the edging it doesnt bode well for the laying of the laminate.
You could have endless problems going forward.

What has he laid the laminate on, what's underneath it ? Do your doors open and shut properly over it?
  • This is horrible!!! Why did you need to nail the laminate with staples if you can see in the other picture that the laminate is glued underneath? The corner joint deserves separate discussion. Where do these "professionals" come from? That is why I always work with those who work on Saturdays. In Stockton, there is one flooring contractor near me that works on weekends. The guys are professional but I could always make sure that provide their quality at my home.
