I blame myself for not being more involved. Looks like it was paid for on a credit card but two & a half years ago. I suppose the best she can do is get advice from a reputable firm. Are you able to see what work was done? Any chance of some photographs? And what does the paperwork say - what is it referred to as being?Does the company still exist?0

Re: the work/photos - that'll be my next step. I live quite far from her unfortunately, though have siblings who are closer - in terms of helping out I tend to help more with the stuff that can be done remotely.
Re: the supplier - I can hardly face trying to get to the bottom of that, to be honest. The invoice has two or three company names - one who makes the raw materials, one who I guess did the installation, maybe one other. I did a quick companies house check for the one who I judged to be responsible for the work and it seemed to me that a company of that name did once exist at the address they gave, but only until about a year before this work was done. A very generous interpretation of this might be that a reputable phoenix company successor of one that'd gone bust for legitimate reasons had forgotten to change some of the details on its paperwork.1 -

So would have been mis-sold from the off.
