In want of reassurance - lost driving licence is haunting me

I'm a bit confused... surely if someone intends to use the driving license to fraudulently open bank accounts, they would use a bank that relies on seeing ID (but doesn't do the 'selfie video' thing that's become common in recent years). So given the bank you chose did not place any reliance on the Driving License, why are you concerned?
In terms of ID checks, when using credit reference data there should normally be a secondary ID check. There are various means of performing this. One way is to issue credentials by post, so any fraudster wouldn't actually be able to use the account they'd opened as they would have no way to access it. And receipt of unexpected credentials would alert the victim to the fraud. There are other ways too and banks have additional risk scoring tools that will identify potentially fraudulent applications even if they've passed the CRA check.
In short I don't think you have anything to worry about - but it's always sensible to keep an eye on your credit report using one of the free services so that you'll spot anything odd.0
