Can I get a refund if I overpaid BUT did reach the yearly threshold?

My monthly pay varies as I do a lot of overtime, so some months I paid and most I didn’t. My annual earnings ended up just exceeding the limit, but as my earnings were much higher in some months I have ended up paying more than 9% of the amount that I am over the threshold - by about £100. Can I get a refund of this, or does my meeting of the threshold eliminate me from being eligible for any overpayment of what I should have owed, based on my annual pay?

Once you meet the annual threshold you can’t get a refund of anything correctly calculated for an individual month. 

Depending on the figures it may be worth adding to a pension or donating to charity through gift aid to reduce your annual earnings amount, sufficient to be under the threshold.
