Norther Rock insurance

Long time ago but it seems NR has had a few red flags over the years .
Late 1980s had a mortgage with NR . Took out insurance for illness . Was told if unable to return to work that my mortgage would be paid off .
Late1990s was ill and claimed the insurance for 9 months .(could claim for a year)
Rang to ask them what would happen if I had to leave job . Was told nothing .
I was very worried re future . I could just about to afford to pay off mortgage so did so .(was not a high mortgage)
I thought at that stage I was no longer able to claim the mortgage payments ...so rang to say I had paid mortgage and they stopped payments.
I was retired medically from my job . I have never been able to return to full time employment .For a couple of years I did a few hours freelance for a four months a year .
It has always stuck with me that I maybe could have been able to have my mortgage paid off by the policy . Also I think I should have still had the mortgage payments as they were for a year (as income because I had paid off mortgage)
At the time I was too ill to be challenging them.
Just wondering now, after all these years, if there is somewhere I can raise these issues ..as there seem to be places you can go with PPI etc even though NR no longer exists.

It has always stuck with me that I maybe could have been able to have my mortgage paid off by the policy .No. MPPI paid a monthly payment up to 12 months or 24 months (depending on version). It never paid a lump sum.. Also I think I should have still had the mortgage payments as they were for a year (as income because I had paid off mortgage)No. MPPI paid the mortgage payments. It wasn't income protection (which wouldn't be linked to the mortgage).Just wondering now, after all these years, if there is somewhere I can raise these issues ..as there seem to be places you can go with PPI etc even though NR no longer exists. There is nowhere you can go with this.
