A mysterious charge from Tower Hamlets

I don't live there or visited in a long time but on my bank statement they charged me £207 for "services"
I will contact my bank about this but is there a way to find out more about the charge?

What sort of charge? If it's a direct debit then you tell the bank you don't recognise it and they (should) reverse it immediately.1

What type of payment?Life in the slow lane0

It seem to be an one off charge from Tower hamlets, I have never received any charge from them before.0

Is that a text? It doesn't look like anything on a bank statement so I'm wondering if it's a scam to make you click on the link.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. This might be a somewhat radical idea, but.......Amazin said:... but is there a way to find out more about the charge?
have you considered asking them?

I suspect that would be a frustrating experience if you have no idea which department the amount relates to, and in any event they may (rightly) refuse to divulge any info to a random caller.Okell said:

That doesn't actually answer those questions - what actual type of payment was it, i.e. exactly how did they debit your account? Does it show as a direct debit payment, or a debit card one, or something else....?Amazin said:It seem to be an one off charge from Tower hamlets, I have never received any charge from them before.0 -

I believe @Okell was talking about asking Tower Hamlets (thus the link).
