A mysterious charge from Tower Hamlets

I don't live there or visited in a long time but on my bank statement they charged me £207 for "services"

I will contact my bank about this but is there a way to find out more about the charge?

What sort of charge? If it's a direct debit then you tell the bank you don't recognise it and they (should) reverse it immediately.

It seem to be an one off charge from Tower hamlets, I have never received any charge from them before.

Is that a text?  It doesn't look like anything on a bank statement so I'm wondering if it's a scam to make you click on the link.

I think it's the detail of a transaction from a bank app - judging by the colours its Nat West or RBS...

This might be a somewhat radical idea, but.......

    have you considered asking them?

I suspect that would be a frustrating experience if you have no idea which department the amount relates to, and in any event they may (rightly) refuse to divulge any info to a random caller.

How did they have your bank account details?

That doesn't actually answer those questions - what actual type of payment was it, i.e. exactly how did they debit your account?  Does it show as a direct debit payment, or a debit card one, or something else....?

Clearly, yes, from the rest of the sentence that you truncated!

I believe @Okell was talking about asking Tower Hamlets (thus the link).
