Planning permission involving a private road

Planning permission approval is also not a given. My particular scenario is about a planning application in greenbelt and with protected wildlife. So we (the whole community impacted) are not objecting just because of this private road. But good to know the process from what has been shared. I will certainly review deeds and be ready for a long drawn out process on the road plans etc.0

OP it sounds to me that you and the other residents have the right of way rather than actually own the road. Myself and my other neighbour have a long shared access which we don't own but are liable for its maintenance. Its likely the original developer owns the road and will grant the developer to take over the road for the purpose of the new houses to be developed. You need to check your deeds carefully and possibly check over the notes from your solicitor regarding the road when you bought the property.0
