What happens if you can’t have a Smart Meter, can anyone suggest a company/tariff that doesn’t need one?

I don’t think there is any situation where you can’t have a smart meter, it will run in dumb mode0

Pretty much every company has a non-smart meter tariff, you just have to ask them. My smart meter hasn't worked for the last 2 years, I still got a decent fixed tariff0

Why are they saying you can't have one? There are some situations where it is still possible to get a tariff that might normally demand a smart meter, but doesn't rely on one. It may be that you would fit in with that scenario.
Your bigger issue is probably to start thinking about what you can do now to begin to resolve the situation though - as at some stage your current meter will reach end of life and will need replacing!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I suspect you really mean the comms is not sending readings so you have to submit manual readings - a slightly different situation.4
