Al Jazeera is no longer available on Freeview (or over the air Freeview anyway).
It moved to Channel 251 and is streaming on that channel.
  • I believe the TV would have to have internet access to get Al Jazeera now.....I don't know why they keep doing this to channels...If you don't have a smart TV, then a streaming stick like a Roku might work.

Al Jazeera can be streamed on the website.  Its also on YouTube.

As to why... channels have to pay to be on Freeview (and Sky/Virgin for that matter).  It might be free to receive but it isn't free for those who broadcast on it.  A few hundred thousand pounds per year and never mind all the other associated broadcast costs.
  • Thanks guys, much appreciated .No smart tv.
Looks like watching usual biased news , looped.
Thought it was me doing something wrong.
All it said, was, , 251 is the new channel, tune tv in to get it.!
    Too easy.
  • Which 'biased' news loop will your choice?
I doubt you will find any channel that does not have a bias, however small that may be. Surely you do not think AJ is alone in being unbiased? They certainly give a different perspective.

🤣🤣 I take it you think AJ is unbiased?  I don't think you should ever use just one news source. That said, most of them get their news items via the same sources and then put their own bias twist to them.

Trusting one source doesn't  really gain anything other than validation of your own bias.

As starting a new thread has proven tricky, DIY router diagnostics might be a stretch too. Maybe best to let the engineer earn their £75.
Hi vitor, much  appreciate your reply, perhaps you are right.perhaps I am just a very suspicious person that thinks why would internet not work, afterwhilst running thier speed and line check? How could that affect my router?
I was talked though router reset, and BT box, with lady ,on quite a while, she said nothing was showing from open reach copper box to my bt box inside, new cables, tried filter, etc hence engineer, and appointment made for Monday morning, first thing, so have only tonight to cancel, but never said how, on a Sunday!
when I got an old router out, just plugged it in and it connected to net straight away, ipad detected router, been using it since, still am,it just says it’s not too secure, ?
When I phoned second time, about this anomaly, hours on the phone for both calls, she said, the line monitor detected likely issue with line.?
    conflict?
if one router works , why would the original pack in when
all I was doing was running a speed test with TT ? Second in a week.
used it all this morning , until line ,speed check, then kaput.
thanks for advice, just me being cynical probably.🤞🏻

If you have all your ISP log in details for the router, or the router self connects / sets up,  the usual method is to push the reset pin hole on the back and start again.  If that doesn't fix it then it is either a line fault or the router is goosed neither of which are your responsibility to pay for.  But as you seem to have another router working it sort of rules out a line fault. The operator likely can't connect to the router so immediately blames the line.  What lights are on the router and are you able to access the logs ?
