Old TSB life policy

Hi, not sure if anyone might be able to advise on this...

My mother passed recently and her paperwork included a small life policy taken out with TSB in the 1990's. Looking at her most recent bank statement, there's no sign of current payments to TSB but the exact same amount quoted on the TSB policy is still being paid out monthly to Scottish Widows. They're both pleading ignorance at the moment but I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Has there been some takeover skullduggery or confusion? This payment must have been going somewhere!

I cant speak for everyone but old TSB Life policies are retained by SW under the original policy numbers and continue to the term with no changes as long as the premiums are paid.

Confusion is most likely.    SW do operate different departments for the old plans compared to SW original plans.   Its possible that if you are contacting the wrong one, they cannot see the old Bancassurer plans.

Ultimatly, if you are getting nowhere with the front line, refer it to the complaints team.
