Roof ridge tiles replacement

Hi,
I recently had a small repair job on my roof for a cracked vent relating to our heating system. Whilst the roofers were up there they said that the ridge tiles are all loose and or cracked and need replacing asap. They did show me the movement in one or two of them.

As of yet, we haven’t experienced any leaking in the loft etc.
They said they could do the job for £1400.
My property is a small bungalow and it has a very gently sloped roof so they said scaffolding wouldn’t be necessary. I believe they said we would need about 20 ridge tiles.
I thought this sounded like rather a lot for the work, but I must confess I am new to roof repairs. Does this sound like a reasonable price?
South East England for reference.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I'd ask friends / neighbours for recommendations of trusted roofers and get a second opinion. The guys may be genuine but £1400 sounds a bit steep for rebedding ridge tiles. It might be worth posting some pictures on here to see if anyone can advise.0

Thank you, I did think it sounded quite a lot but I know roofing repairs are rarely cheap!I will definitely get another quote from someone I know so I can compare. Our property ends at the drain pipe on the right as we are semi detached.0

Just wanted to update for anyone else in this situation. An established local roofing firm have quoted us £510 including tax for the same job.1

Sorry I’m a bit late to this but the first estimate is very high. That’s a few hours of work for one or two men (certainly not a full day) and the materials involved are very cheap.
Ridge tiles are about £5 each and sand and cement you can price easily. The second quote sounds much more like it.

I had a bit of a gut feeling it sounded like a lot-but it is interesting to know just how far off the first quote was!We have had the work done now and as you say, it took one man a few hours. He also straightened up some roof tiles and removed some moss that was pushing some tiles out of line at no extra cost 👍🙂2
