Landlords Insurance

Hi I've recently let a property via a letting agent, I assume we need to have landlords insurance in place but when I've tried to get cover it says the tenency agreement needs to be in place for 3 months, what do I do in the interim?

I'm a landlord and I have NEVER seen that restriction. Is this for buildings insurance? Of course you need it from Day One
Or is it for something like non-payment of rent insurance? I can see where that might require a period first, although I've never had a problem getting it. Try another insurer1 -
Its just for buildings insurance, I did it on a comparison site and all the proffered companies had the same note: Tenancy Agreement must be in place for a minimum of 3 months0

'Must be in place' not 'must have been in place'
I'm pretty sure it means your TENANTS must have at least a 3 month tenancy, not they must have been there three months
It's so that they are sure you're not doing holiday lets1 -
So its saying the tenant has to have signed up to a tenancy with a minimum of 3 months duration... ie its going to be the tenants mid term home. They aren't offering it as insurance on a holiday let or AirBnB where people are there for a week or two and will treat the property in a different way as to someone there longerImperial1847 said:Its just for buildings insurance, I did it on a comparison site and all the proffered companies had the same note: Tenancy Agreement must be in place for a minimum of 3 months1 -
