Hi all.
I've a HC3 certificate which gives me limited help for dental costs.
The maximum I have to pay would be £161.58 per course of treatment or prescribed item.
If I was to get a filling which is £73.50 on the NHS, would I have to pay that full amount?
Thanks.

Yes you would.
Anything over £161.58 the NHS pays.
Anything under £161.58 you pay.2 -
I see. Thanks.
Not happy though. £73.50 for a small filling which takes less than 5 mins??0 -
NHS dentistry is extremely hard to access so I'd count yourself lucky that you can.
The NHS cap work into 3 price bands which usually doesn't pay the dentist enough, hence the chronic shortage of NHS dentists.
The same work in private dentistry would likely be more.1
