I tried to open a Chetwood account yesterday but they want 3 working days to make further checks apparently.
    Never had this before

With Chetwood they can only receive money from, and return money to, the account you set as your nominated Current Account - although they aren't the only institution with this requirement

    Hi all,
I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with Chetwood bank or Monument and whether or not you would recommend them? I cant seem to find much about them online at all.

I need to split some money between a couple of savings accounts.

The others I have been considering are Vanquis, Oxbury, OakNorth and Atom.

    Thanks!
Nearly completed the application for a1Y bond. Application process very lengthy and time consuming. This has reduced my confidence in the Chetwood Business model. If you take the 3.8% inflation & 20% tax out of the interest rate, it is too laborious to save make few pennies.

At least banks like Aldermore, Gatehouse, GB Bank and Vanquis. Saga Savings make it bearable.
With Britain itching for war, the real money (Gold Coins) seems a better option.
    Good Luck

Never had any problems with Chetwood - apart from the fact they seem to reduce their interest rates futher and more quickly than most other savings organisations following a BoE rate reduction. Right now their rates are below average.

  • Chetwood seem to offer a i year Fixed Rate Isa at 4.4% but this cannot be accessed and opened online. (I had no problem opening and funding an easy access savings account.) Careful reading of  Chetwood information suggests ISA transfer is only possible into an existing Chetwood ISA. Catch 22?!

Their site shows a 4.4% one year fix but it's a taxable account not an ISA, where are you seeing this?

Any ISA transfer needs to be preceded by opening the account into which to transfer?!
