**What I'll admit I'm unsure about here is whether the original 7 day delivery amounts to an agreed time or period for delivery for the purposes of s28 of the CRA.  If it doesn't (eg was just an estimate) then the OP will have to wait until 30 days after the contract was entered into, and then give them a further period - "reasonable in the circumstances" - within which to deliver.  It'll be weeks before it's sorted...
Given everything is an estimate as you can’t guarantee anything (except the consumer standing in front of you with the goods in your hand for immediate delivery) I would say yes the 7 days has to be timeframe otherwise any company selling, say a sofa, who “estimate” delivery in 3 months time would be at risk of having to delivery within 30 days. :)

    Ah.

I hadn't thought of turning it round the other way.

I’m just hopeful that the OP might return and give us the heads-up on where they ended up with this - it’s always interesting to know how situations were resolved and of course can be useful for others who find themselves in the same situation. That given though, I can see why it might seem pointless when your thread has been the victim of a hijack by someone with their own axe to grind!

Ah but when the mattress does arrive it the OP could be denied redress for problems
This obviously requires that there is a problem when the mattress arrives and a failure to get redress for the problem which has not yet (and may never) manifested itself.
