Relative thinking of viewing this vehicle - is this rust?
Options
Vehicle is a 2010 VW Scirocco.
Viewing the online advert, the car bodywork looks immaculate apart from image seen with the driver's side door open.
It's from a garage, comes with 3month warranty and MOT history is acceptable.
Because it's a long drive, just need to know whether the condition of that door hinge is worth worrying about.
Thanks

I have a Scirocco (second one) and that would be a very odd place for one to rust!
I suspect it’s accumulated dirt from not very good cleaning.2 -
Looks like dirt on the hinge lubricant.3

Lithium spray grease goes that colour - and well worth applying for lubrication and corrosion protection.
Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
That's not to say a 14 year old Scirocco will be rust free1

Looks like spray grease/lubricant to me too. The hinges on my nearly 11 years old car look almost exactly the same. Not rust.
