I took a settlement agreement from work and am a bit confused what to do in terms of benefits. I have less than 6k savings, including the settlement, so I am thinking claiming JSA would be a good idea. What am I applying for? Is it universal credit?

contribution based JSA initially, but likely that as part of a UC claim
however if you have the small amount of assets you assertt and are going to need help with rent , council tax , dependents and the like then a UC application is mertied0
