My wife and I have stayed at several Premier Inn hotels over the past couple of years and we have never been able to watch anything from our phones on the TV. My wife had a iPhone 12 and me, an old Nokia 7+ so wireless mirroring never worked.

Now my wife has an iPhone 16, I think we'll try buying a cable before our next trip. At least now, both of our phones have USB C connectors.

Is it simply a case of buying a USB C to HDMI cable, or is it more complicated than that ?

thanks

A USB-C to HDMI cable should mirror the iPhone screen to a TV

Personally have an Amazon Firestick which I use for longer travels which then any device can be used if you want to mirror or the device can be left to charge and just use the Firestick itself for content

Also remember that many TV's in hotels run a hospitality version of the TV OS and lock out HDMI to guests so any cable may not work.

Premier Inn hotels have the following connection 'hub' placed below each TV

Not premier inn, older hotels have an HDMI socket under the TV, newer hotels have a full connection hub.

Perfect for a FireStick as you have both HDMI and USB for power

The simple answer is that it varies. Some will allow you to plug something into the back of the TV, some have a special socket you can use and others won't have anything at all. Neither the PI Hub or Travelodge I stayed in this week offered any form of connection to the TV.
