Morning all
It looks a bit blowy out but nothing worse than that. Hope the weather doesn't get too bad for those up North.
Well, we had a great time yesterday picking pumpkins. It's actually all the other bits that make it an enjoyable morning. Rather surprised that DGS2, aged 12 months, thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the wheelbarrow all the time and being surrounded by our 4 chosen pumpkins. His brother, at that age, wasn't at all interested, and even yesterday, all he wanted to do was hang out around the tractors.
We then managed to find a suitable hotel to book for next year's wedding and then I managed to buy my laptop so altogether an extremely productive day.
Today I have food shopping to do as Mr WL has to have a low fibre diet until Thursday. These diets seem to vary from region to region, with MK sending him a very short list of allowed things, which doesn't include any dairy!
Happy Sunday everyone.12 -
Yesterday was such a gloriously clear and bright day. On my drive south I chose to go the longer way as I read about long queues to get through the Rest diversion, what a great choice it was. An almost empty road and fabulous scenery. When I arrived at the body shop my car wasn't quite ready so a lovely chap there took me to a big supermarket where I sat in the cafe enjoying a small breakfast. After about an hour and a half he came back for me. My car was sparkling clean and had the new door installed. I drove straight home, no stopping for shopping. The delay at the Rest wasn't bad, I only waited five or six minutes. In the evening I went to bed rather earlier than normal to watch Strictly in bed. 😀😀 The night was quiet until the wind began to arrive at about 4.30am, now it's all very raging outside so I'll be staying firmly inside. Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday. Now I'm sending loads of them out to everyone to stay safe and dry. Slobbing Sunday again.13

Morning All
After a perfect autumn day yesterday it's very wet and windy this morning and set to get worse as the day goes on, I think I'll stay home!
I was at the allotment yesterday to weed a bed for some old chaps, they always help me out so it was a small thing to do although fairly back breaking! The shopping trip was successful, changed a dress at one supermarket as it size on the hanger was wrong and the dress was huge, thankfully they still had it in my size and was in the sale. The main supermarket shop consisted of essentials only and a big pile of children's clothes for the little one and DGS, t shirts reduced to £1 and a shorts and t shirt set for the little one for £3, pack of 3 leggings for £2 and some other tops that were £3.50 for 5 - very happy with my haul!
I walked down to the town here for some more yarn to make the little one a short sleeved cardi to go with her Christmas dress, although it may be next Christmas when I get it done! Perhaps I'll start it today.
Washing all dried and put away, one pair of trousers to iron but there's no hurry for them.
Well done on your Christmas shopping Ruby.
How's the car Gers?
Good to hear from you WL, you sound as busy as ever.
Is your building work nearly finished now taff?
Your decluttering seems to be going well Mehefin, hope it's not too difficult for you.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, stay safe and take care. XX

Hi all
Glad your car is sorted @Gers, and hope the storm isn’t too destructive - just wet here. It’ll be a slow day today for lots of reasons, mainly cos I slipped yesterday planting bulbs in a rockery area that is above a patio. Didn’t fall far but on my back and headfirst, more of a slide. Came to halt with my back in the wall hanging on. Bit scary but just bruised in various places and feel more stiff this morning,
No cooking as we are having a takeaway Sunday lunch from the local pub as DMum won a voucher earlier in the year.Stay safe all those in the stormy areas

Hi everyone,
It was a busy day yesterday. Laura had a training day in London and Brian was arriving back from the Highlands by sleeper train so we took the children to soft play. I'm a bit sore today from clambering up and down the equipment and contorting myself to fit in child sized spaces. Great fun was had by all though. After we got back I went food shopping then made sugar free granola, vegetable biriani and lentil and chickpea dal. The latter two were for dinner and was very tasty. Today I want to sort the kitchen, we're having gammon and boulangere potatoes with carrot and swede and cabbage for dinner tonight - I think I'll get Steve to do the gammon and veg, I'll do the potatoes, I don't trust him with the mandolin slicer.
As a result of having a new wider radiator in the utility room we got a new rack for the coats and shoes to replace the one that no longer fit. It looks much nicer and finishes off the room beautifully. We also bought a heated airer so we've re-jigged the sewing room and moved a kallax from there into our bedroom but it still needs a rearrangement to fit in properly. We've got 4 days before Steve's sister comes to stay so I want to spend most of it sorting so we don't look so much like a jumble sale.
Gers and camelot, I hope the winds don't do too much damage.
Have a good day.13 -
Morning allWind getting up here but nothing like up with you Gers, stay safe. Apparently we're going to have some rain so bedding has been hung upstairs on the airer just in case.DH fitted a new toilet in the downstairs loo yesterday as the other one's cistern filled up so slowly. Seemed all OK but he found a slow leak before he came up to bed last night so has just gone out to buy a replacement thingummybob to stop the leak.Waiting for shopping delivery sometime in the next hour.Hope everyone gets their jobs done todayKeep safe all x12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. The storm has still to arrive here but looking at the sky the rain doesn't look far away. The strong winds are due to arrive this afternoon, Oh I do hate the wind, it can be so damaging.
Well I didn't get to Harrogate yesterday after all, but I did get half way there! Sadly the stocking filler shopping never got underway. Lots of looking but no buying. I guess my heart isn't in it yet. The only shopping I did was from M & S Food and that wasn't Christmas food either. I had a while to wait for the bus back so sat on a seat in the sunshine waiting and it really felt a better day than we got in summer!
Supermarket Sweep day but I am still awaiting a text from DS telling me what time. I hope he doesn't leave it until the storm is battering us! I have a bit bigger list today as he and his DP were away last weekend and there was nothing I was desperate for..
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of one. Take care and stay safe if you are in the path of the storm x
Ouch ALLIE that sounds a bad tumble. Rest up today if you can."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all from cloudy and wet windy Mehefinland
It's pretty dire currently but nothing like Gers and the northern dwellers are getting.
Took friends to Cardiff airport for their trip to Malaga. The drop and go part has changed in that I had to pay £3 to get out. Its a con - was literally there 2 minutes. Good job I had a card with me as it was a card only payment, It has changed in the last month or so as I didn't have to pay when I took other friends when they went to Portugal earlier this year. Not amused to put it lightly. I know its only a small sum but it's the cheek of it that galls me.
The Sally Ann has a clothes recycling bin outside one of the local community centres I discovered yesterday. That will be useful in due course.
The 20 or so pumpkins I grew on the muckheap in the field are now safely ensconced in our library and starting to sell. I found another 4 yesterday hiding in the foliage - I'm sure they were playing peek a boo with me.
Due to walk same friends dogs later ( and for the week) with another friend - hope the weather stays dry whilst doing it as it's pretty exposed to the elements here. Wind and rain comes straight in off the sea- there's very little shelter to stop it.
Nextdoor's barn is rattling in the wind - they had it resheeted by someone who obviously didn't know what they were doing. The whole thing is clanging like the percussion in an orchestra. Hope it stands up to the increasing wind.
Hugs and spoons as always

Hear hear, Mehefin re the airport parking. It's just about everywhere now. They must be making a fortune, such a con!

Good morning everyone
It's wet and windy here. Nowhere near as bad as further north, hope everyone keeps safe. I hate the wind, I'm forever checking to see if my shed roof is ok or if my fence will finally give in, I'm finding the practical side of being on your own very difficult to adjust to.
Not much planned for today, I'm going to do a quick clean and then some ironing followed by an afternoon of doing very little. Tomorrow I am looking after my goddaughter's two year old so I will be spending a lot of time playing with her, I am sure she missed out the learning to walk stage and just jumped to the learning to run stage.
I hope everyone keeps safe and special thoughts to the sad and the poorlies.
Take care x11
