Delivery problem from Amazon Marketplace

I waited in all day for a 'phone that did not arrive. It eventually turned up two days later... and the on-line tracking did not give any relevant information.
This is the kind of thing one expects from Evri, who turned out to be the courier responsible for the delivery. I would have chosen a different merchant had I known they used Evri.
And when i expressed concern, they said that Amazon provided the label so that they had to use Evri.
How can I complain effectively about this? If the vendor really had no choice about which courier to use there seems no point in complaining to them, while Amazon themselves tend to pass on complaints about market-place sellers.
And can I get any compensation for the time wasted?

Should not be the vendor complaining to Amazon?
As a buyer, I have always found complaining to Amazon about their own delivery drivers a complete waste of time, let alone anyone else’s.I haven’t sold on Amazon marketplace for awhile, but you certainly used to have a choice. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
If it was coming from a marketplace seller then I wouldn't expect the same timely delivery. Have a nice Sunday and forget about it, to much stress otherwise. You certainly won't be getting compo.0
