Unpaid Fuel QDR Solicitors and Green Motion PCN

I rented a car from Green Motion, and didnt notice that the petrol station had only charged me for coffee and sandwiches, not for petrol.
Couple of months later I got an email from Green Motion asking for £68 admin charges for a PCN presumably issued by the petrol station. Separately I got a request from QDR Solicitors to pay the outstanding fuel bill - which I duly paid by telephone.
Am I liable for the Green Motion admin fee of £68

Who can say without seeing the agreement you signed with them!

Is this anything to do with parking?2

Keith, not directly parking but the Green Motion process seems to be the same as for parking PCNs so the same should apply

fisherjim - understood but there are a lot of Green Motion threads and likely their agreement is identical in its treatment of parking issues and unpaid fuel issues, so someone might have useful experience to share.

Most rental car agreements have a clause that they will charge an admin fee for anything that they have to pass on to you such as parking or these types of issues. You will need to check your rental agreement to see if it is in there.

I cant see how a petrol station or petrol company can issue any PCN, private parking companies issue private PCNs, after obtaining keeper details from the DVLA database , using a KADOE contract
Not paying for petrol does not incur a private PCN, buy may incur an invoice due to non payment of the fuel bill
But the rental agreement may well have terms and conditions on it regarding various charges that may be incurred , not necessarily just parking , so dents, scuffs, tyres, cigarette burns inside etc1 -
I would likely refuse to pay it, on the grounds that £68 is not a pre-estimate of loss for passing on your details. It is extortionate and also (probably...but you'd need to check) this sort of charge might not be covered by the agreement you have signed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Green Motion don't have a 5* reputation! I'd never hire from them. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
