Help to buy

Hi I wonder if anyone can help?
I need to apply for probate for my brother’s estate but I can’t find out how much he owes to help to buy to estimate the value of the estate. Help to buy will not tell me even though I have provided the will and death certificate until I have been granted probate, which I can’t apply as I can’t estimate the value 😬.I have rang 3 times and sent 20 emails trying to get this resolved. Help to buy is extremely unhelpful. This has made an already awful time a little more stressful.

If he had help to buy them his estate is probably small enough to avoid inheritance tax. For this reason your estimate of how much is owed to HTB might not need to be too accurate

I don't think you can rely on that.Mark_d said:If he had help to buy them his estate is probably small enough to avoid inheritance tax. For this reason your estimate of how much is owed to HTB might not need to be too accurate
OP - maybe try a formal complaint: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/help-to-buy-complaints-procedure#help-to-buy-customer-charterGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
