Company has kept deposit

Options
A holiday company that advertises people’s holiday homes on their website has refused to give us our deposit back. The holiday home was perfect but failed to mention one major thing that was not acceptable to us due to mobility problems.
The holiday home owner had no problem with us cancelling but the holiday company has insisted that we must book another holiday home from their company. They have refused to refund our deposit of £300.

When you say they "failed to mention" it are you saying that you asked and they lied? Or that you never asked and they didn't volunteer the information? If it's the latter then they're probably within their rights to not refund the deposit.

Have you read the small print in their T&C? It will say in there if the deposits you pay to them are refundable and under what circumstances and those are usually when it's the company's mistake
