2 cards with the same provider?

Can you have two credit cards with the same provider?
I have a long-standing credit card with Barclaycard, over twenty years. I’ve just noticed they are offering a O% on purchases card for up to 21 months. Now I would love to go for this so I could do a bit of stoozing but would I be rejected due to having a card with them and If I got it, would that have any implications with my current card. It’s just with 20+years on the clock I don’t want to risk my current card.
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Barclays have at time allowed people to have multiple cards, until recently I had 2, but I believe they are currently in a one card cycle. Indeed if you use their eligibility questionnaire the very first one is if you hold or have held a barclaycard in the last 6 months and directs you to use the eligibility tester in their apps to see if you are eligible without doing a hard credit search.1 -
Yes you can.
I have 2 halifax cards - one for abroad, one for cashback.
Of course each company may have their own rules, but if you've got a good record with them then that's in your favour.1 -
Don't be surprised if this triggers Bcard looking at your card use and income etc and reducing the credit limit.
Also, just stating the obvious, you wouldn't be able to use a new Bcard to BT from the old Bcard.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Barclaycard change their rules quite frequently.
You can have five cards across Lloyds Banking Group ( Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and MBNA) but no more than two with any one of those providers.
Virgin Money let you hold five.
Amex let you hold four.
Natwest let you hold 4 across NatWest group ( NatWest, RBS and Ulster ) but no more than two with any single one of those.
Santander let you hold two.
Tesco let you h9ld two.
Assuming you pass credit checks of course.Best Regards,
