Disabled Facilities Grant - Do I have to have the design that my Council wants me to have?

Just starting application My council wants me to have a wet room. I would prefer one of those walk in sit in bath/shower combination with water spa. The water spa would help with my legs. I'd like to keep the separate toilet and have bars fitted to help me get on and off the toilet. Can I choose what I want?

Was the OP talking about a new extension or an existing structure though ?
