Nationwide Issues

Anyone else having issues with Nationwide this evening?

Service Status says all OK but my accounts show:

"Sorry, we're unable to show you all your account info at the moment. This also means you’ll be unable to make payments from some accounts. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as we can."

    Turns out...

I opened a new account yesterday to start a switch and get the £175.

So they decided to give me a new customer number (after 20 years with the old one)

Which means no online access to my accounts until the letter arrives in the post with the details 🤬🤬🤬

Cards and bill payments will still work they say.

Good job I have multiple accounts with multiple banks...

At least you were able to find out the reason. Hopefully.

I had the same with Santander which was weird as the last time I used them for a switch they found my old account fine after maybe 3-4 years, this time I got a brand new user number - though that could be because of a mistake in the name setting up, somehow a vowel was missing from my surname, yet they set the account up fine, passed all ID checks etc! Nationwide when I opened a new account with them were able to use my old details

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
