Smoke alarm

So I had a hard wired smoke alarm to my electics it was beeping and due to replace in 2018. I got new interlinked ones for Scottish government regulations last year so it’s next to it. So I got an electrican to remove old one and put a cover over it. My carbon monoxide one is in kitchen and a separate one is that all that needs done? He put a cover over the hole and removed the alarm and some wires I assume that will be all that needs done?

Yes that'll be fine. To cheer you up they contain a backup battery in case the mains fail, the beeping just means the battery needed changing.

How do you mean is that all you need? You need a heat detector in kitchen, and a smoke alarm in any "living" room (not a bedroom or bathroom) and any hallway upper and lower. You need a carbon monoxide detector close to any gas appliance. The Scottish regs state they do not need to be hardwired, but must be interlinked (apart from carbon mon detector) and have a non-replaceable battery.
