Amazon Third Party Seller Return

Purchased an eBike 17/09/2024, from a third party seller on Amazon, using "Instalments by Barclays".
c. 10 days ago I checked on delivery, there was an issue, so I raised a query, no response, so I raised an A-Z.
Seller responded within 24 hours of A-Z (quelle surprise), sent me an image of a box "somewhere", which they claimed was my house and a facsimile of a "signature" which cetainly isn't mine as I was at work. (I'm a support worker, I work away, overnight sleeps, c. 4 nights/week)
14th October I located the parcel, with an older female neighbour who has been in hospital, hence the parcel "delivery", although she insists that she did not sign for receipt?!
I've assembled the item, there is a problem attaching the front mudguard, as the holes drilled are too large, I've tried 'packing' the screws, but they won't hold, AFAIC this is a fault and the vendor must make this right, but they won't respond.
Now fed up, with no confidence if other issues arise, I've tried returns, but they expect me to pay for return, surely their responsibility for a fault?
All advice welcome please.....
Ta, Andy.

On the other hand, if you're reporting a fault to the vendor, then it seems premature to conclude that won't respond if you only assembled it yesterday?0 -

The general age gender is quoted as the vendor responded with a "...facsimile of a "signature"..." which reads "Andrew Lewis", I suspect that the delivery people wrote this, as the recipient denies signing anything.
The vendor now claims delivery on 20/09/2024, as I didn't receive this, does that count as delivery? Surely not, although I stand to be corrected.
Aa the vendor only initially responded when I raised an A-Z, I would consider that I'm not being "..premature..", although that isn't really relevant, as I'm seeking advice regarding return, which I don't expect to pay for.0 -
Hello OP
Is it possible to open another A-Z for SNAD? If so AFAIK the seller will be expected to supply a pre-paid return label. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Returns are handled differently according to which option you're exercising:
- Any rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which allow cancellation of online purchases
- Any rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which cover the likes of the short term right to reject faulty goods
- The retailer's own returns policy (which can't override either of the above)
The reference to premature was in relation to lack of response to your contact yesterday or today about the fault, not earlier delivery issues...0
