s75 Claim on a second hand faulty car purchased from a dealer

Hi All
I bought a car from a dealer paying a £500 deposit by Halifax credit card.
I identified several faults with the vehicle before purchase, which the dealer agreed to rectify so long as I paid the full sticker price.
The dealer delivered the car 4 weeks later with only one of the faults fixed. I was a bit annoyed that they had the vehicle for a month and only fixed one of the faults.
I have lost confidence in the dealer's ability to get the issues fixed.
Can I make a s75 claim and how do I go about this? Is there a time limit?

The have since tried to fix the airbag light and electric window, and I have noticed that the wiring loom has been cut into leaving bare wires exposed.

As long as the total cost of the car is less than £30k you should be ok with a S75 claim. You've given the dealer an opportunity to fix the problems you spotted and they've failed to do so. Have you asked for a refund using the Consumer Rights Act?0

Why switch to the credit card provider rather than just reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act with the merchant?
You will need to gather much more evidence to make a claim against the bank0 -
alembicbassman said:**UPDATE** The vehicle went back to have the window and airbag fixed - the original dealer had the car for 10 days and gave me a courtesy car with no MOT, the window was fixed but they put a piece of black tape over the airbag light - I paid for a main dealer do a diagnostic on the system and they found the light had been taped over. So we'll be going to trading standards with the car. The dealer has put the lives of drivers and passengers at risk by covering up an airbag fault.0

If you contact Trading Standards (via the CAB Consumer Advice service) I suggest you set your expectations very low, otherwise you will be disappointed. (from personal experience)
