Hello. In April 2024 I signed up for a 2 year Essentials Broadband package with EE, for £27.99 per month. The annual price increase in my contract is CPI+3.9% . EE have now written to me by email saying they messed up and, from March 2025 intend to charge me £3 more per month, which is and increase of 10.7% (See email from them below). Is there anything can i do ?
Hi Mr. Xxx,
We're getting in touch regarding your broadband purchase between 24 April and 10 May 2024.
We're sorry, but due to an error on our part, you may not have been given the correct wording in your Contract Summary and Pre-Contract Information documents relating to your new contract.
Your documents referenced an annual increase to your bill which is linked to inflation and based on the Consumer price index (CPI), plus 3.9%. This isn't correct, as your new plan is actually on our new terms which have a fixed annual increase, so you have the certainty of knowing the changes to your bill year on year well in advance.
You don't need to do anything – the correct wording for your Contract Summary and Pre-Contract Information documents is outlined below.
Annual Price Increases
The monthly plan price for the service will be increased on 31 March each year by £3 and all out of bundle charges will be increased by 5% (rounded to the nearest whole pence).
Example Calculation
If your monthly plan price was £40/month, it would increase to £43 on 31 March 2025 and then £46 on 31 March 2026.
We may also increase any charges at any time. If we do, you may be able to end the service early without paying a cancellation charge.
See our terms and conditions at ee.co.uk/terms and ee.co.uk/prices-explained for more information.

I should think that if you do not agree with the new terms and conditions imposed you would be able to leave without an early termination fee since they made a mistake. Is it worth it though? Depends what else is on offer right now and what terms they would offer you, which may be similar.

Vodafone is offering 2 year full fibre 76mb contract for £24 per month , increasing £3 every march. Thats quite a big saving . So definitely worth it.0
