Mehefin you are doing well work through things at your own pace you will get there and your family will thank you for saving them a big job I have a couple of cleaning jobs and some of there houses are packed to the rafters with stuff the lady I have been to today is 89 she has no family and she occasionally has me getting boxes out and saying I should do something about this lot you know but I will put them back in the box and have a think she used to be a brownie leader many moons ago and she has a box full of badges and scarfs and photos and all sorts I said why don’t you give them to the local brownie group and they might make a nice display out of them good idea she said put them back in the box and I will have a think about that it’s never been mentioned again I know it’s her house and her things and her memories but I’m afraid when anything happens to her they will all be tossed in a skip . It nice and mild here but very dull I have hung some washing out it will get its chance but I think it will be coming in on the airier soon . Shephards pie and veg tonight. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

How lovely of you @Ruby - I'm sure that Rob will appreciate being in clean clothes.@Mehefin - when my DM died she had so many things from her mother, fur coats, beautiful glasses, vintage clothes etc. For those I sourced a film / TV company, offered them to their wardrobe department, they were delighted to have these original items. Similarly, my DM had a beautiful horsehair- stuffed three piece suite from approx 30s / 40s. The film company really wanted the set, sent a lorry up from London to collect it and it will now be seen in some period dramas or films. I was so happy to have all this sorted, everything put too good use and not in landfill or a CS.@SuffolkSue - I frequently joked about getting a skip, my DM didn't budge about wanting to keep her 'treasures. She just couldn't find it in herself to get rid of anything, no matter how inconsequential. Her theory was that she had to work hard after the war to get an education, a career and raise a family an everything she had was fought for against the many odds she faced. I simply couldn't bring myself to force her.I've been out, dropped off the rubbish and filled the hire car with fuel. My own car could be ready on Thursday or Friday, the new door is being painted. So many people having sickness and COVID still rearing its head. I hope that you all feel better soon, including the little ones.12

Morning all, a late one from me. Spent nearly 2 hours chatting on the phone to my old workmate and then went to a local outlet centre I'd not been to for a while. Glad I did I got some more miniature daffodils that I wanted and got a pair of jeggings too.Ruby so sad that you have to do that for Rob. I think anyone of us would do the same. Surely someone in authority could tear his mother off a strip for letting him go out in dirty clothes etc. As I said it's such a sad situation.Hope you feel better soo Taff.It feels quite warm outside but I've such a cold house that I've had to put the heating on now I'm home.Hope all the poorlies feel better soon. Take care all x9

Oh taff, I sympathise, I had a bout of d & v over the weekend, not bad enough to be norovirus I don't think but still not nice. I hope you pick up quickly.
You too Sue, COVID isn't great.8 -
Afternoon all, I'm late because we went to town this morning to get Dad something for his birthday. It's difficult to get him something when he doesn't want anything but expects something anyway 🙄 I settled on 2 thick zip up tops from Primarni that he can wear in the house and a box of chocs. At least now I won't need to keep telling him it needs a wash and then argue because he says has no other when he has, but it's always a fight to get him to change. I seem to be channelling my late mother who wouldn't let him leave the house looking like a rag bag !
I bought a padded jacket and a teddy bear look top for myself after I sent Mr Fix It back to sit in the car as he wasn't feeling too good, then I went around to the card shop where I bought family xmas cards. It is supposed to be dry and cloudy today but no it's bucketing down and very dark so I shall curl up under my throw this afternoon.
Sorry to read that there are so many poorly ones today, hope you all get well soon.
Redruby I'm glad Rob enjoyed his birthday but it's such a shame you have to keep his clothes at your house.
Snoozer my DGD had hand foot and mouth not long ago, it must be doing the rounds, hope it clears up very soon.
dp1 hope DGD feels ok today, big hugs to her.
Mehefin good luck with the clear out, it probably feels like you're throwing someone's life history away so have a cwtch from me. I have to fight with Mr Fix It because he wants to keep everything for Justin, especially anything electrical, but I have told DD to do whatever she wants with anything left after we've gone and not to stress about it.
Right lunch calls, take care all

Hello everyone
Nannywindow yes little one has had a couple of good mornings at school this week, she didn't come knocking on nursery window at lunchtime today so she must have been happy playing with her friends.
After work I went into town and had my flu and Covid jabs, I've never had them at the same time so I'm hoping I feel ok in the morning. The website would only let me book for both, not one at a time. As usual, I got an instant headache from the flu one and feel very sleepy, so it will be an early night tonight.
Taff sorry to hear you have norovirus, I have had it only once, a couple of years ago and it was awful - hope you're better soon.
I hope your Covid isn't too bad Sue, there seems to be a lot of it here in Northumberland just now.
Right I'm going to get into my jarmies and dressing gown and get comfy on the sofa x9 -
@mehefin - Gers had a wonderful idea of what to do with things. The local drama departments at schools would also probably use some items for their productions. In my grandniece's production of Nutcracker Suite, several people are in the first scene wearing those long gloves. They should find a home where they would be welcome.5
