Morning everyone - thankyou for starting us off Gers - it's dull but dry here atm.
I am off for my flu jab this morning.
Hope everyone has a good day. x12 -
Today certainly feels like a stay in bed day. I'm wide awake and snug though about to make the move into the coldness. I slept long and well overnight after a busy couple of days. Before coming home yesterday I visited an old (in both senses of the word) friend. I was surprised to find that she's nearly 90 years old, she's so upright and full of simmering energy - relatively speaking. My drive home was hampered by a huge long traffic slowly moving jam. A section of a dual carriageway had a short'ish section coned off for what appeared to be non-existent works of some sort. A normally five minute drive took 45 minutes. @Camelot - you'll know where this is. For once I felt annoyed about this - school holidays and nothing being done. Grrrr. Anyway, the rest of the drive was glorious. A dry sunny and cold day brought out the best of the autumn scenery and the traffic thinned out well. My irritation was soon soothed.Today I only have to do a quick whizz round the living room tidying away accumulated clutter and then take away the black bag of rubbish to the tip. The fridge is still full so no shopping needed.I hope that everyone is doing well.13

Morning, thanks for the start Gers.
Not quite light yet but its not raining and seems a bit milder.
Usual chores this morning, DH is expecting a delivery so will be waiting for that, I may pop out for a couple of bits of shopping, not much, mainly carrots and potatoes. Oh, and mayonnaise, which was on my shopping list last week but I still forgot. Note to self, look at the list when in the shop!
We didn't want the gammon last night after having some for lunch, so a rummage in the freezer produced the last of the bbq meats, pork steaks and chicken wings, we had with coleslaw and garlic bread for OH. Tonight will definitely be gammon egg and chips.
Love and hugs to all who need them, have a good day x

Cold and damp here this morning but no rain due till later this afternoon, I have three people coming today all being well but I am not sure what we are doing yet I will see what they fancy doing.
Dinner tonight will be left over roast dinner from Sunday I just have to heat it through in the oven, I will also make a beef casserole to go in the sc Wednesday morning.
Rob loved his lunch out yesterday and he enjoyed opening his presents it was lovely to see, his best friend bought him a jumper which I have kept here so that he can have something clean to wear when we go out and I can wash it when necessary , the jumper he had on yesterday when he arrived was filthy and smelly 😩 I am going shopping Friday so will get him a couple of t-shirts to keep here as well.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. After a day of wall to wall blue sky and sunshine yesterday, today we are forecast a day of wall to wall thick cloud! But still no rain.
It's supposed to be lunch day with DF today but, as we know, this all depends on the state of play when her DH gets up. She really does live on a knife edge with him. They said the brain scan he had last week can take from a week to a month before his Doctor gets the result. .More knife edge living.
Have a good day folks whatever you are up to and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Happy shopping REMMIE, but you are a step better than me as at least your unread list goes with you whereas mine invariably gets left on the worktop! Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning All
Snap TA, gloriously sunny and fairly warm day yesterday and grey cloud this morning although due to stay dry. I may put some washing in if there's enough.
I know the stretch you mean Gers - that's my way to and from work and gets very frustrating when there's nothing going on.
Lovely lunch out at The Ivy yesterday followed by a couple of drinks somewhere else, Glasgow was quite busy for a Monday and had a good vibe. I got the train there and back so no stress with traffic and only cost £5.40.
Lovely that Rob had a good time opening presents Ruby, did he wear his flat cap? Shame that you have to keep clothes at yours for him.
Hope you get a day out TA.
I too make shopping lists but either forget to take them or forget to look once in the shop!
Allotment this morning then an afternoon of sloth is on the cards. Happy Tuesday, take care. XX11 -
Good morning all from and a dull and damp Mehefinland
The last few days have been same old and not a great deal and get up and go. The normal chores are ok,it's just the other stuff. It can be overwhelming if I let it become so. I m determined not to be a misery guts but I do find interaction with a group of people difficult atm. I am a community councillor, and school govenor in my little village, and have stepped back temporarily as it is too soon for me. I still keep tabs on what they are upto- and can email stuff/respond etc .
Still walking Cooperdog for my friend whilst her DH mends his knee. They had better get a move on as they fly to Espana on Saturday. I am on the airport run - it's literally 5 minutes away. Probably takes longer to load and unload them and their cases than the actual travel time!
Still looking for the bag of (mostly costune) jewelry that Dawn put safe. Did come across a whole pile of pictures stuffed in the back of a wardrobe. Mostly of DS as a little boy. A bag full of unopened tights, pull ups etc. Lord knows why as she never wore them for years. An old ottoman revealed more treasures which had come from my family home (both of my parents died in 2001 so they have been stuck there probably since then). My Mum's sewing box, some orders of service for my Dad's funeral, an absolutely gorgeous pair of white leather elbow length evening gloves ( such small hands!) which I have no idea what to do with, and a beautiful black silk? jacket with heavy relief embroidery and froggings; hook and eye fastenings etc. I suspect it was possibly my ggmothers but I have no real idea. Again what to do with it, I don't want to sell it so it sits in someone else's wardrobe never to be seen, I suppose it ought to go to a clothes collection of some sort - I think it is definitely museum quality. Will have to do some research.
My stash of pumpkins is slowly reducing - I shall take a load to the library- they can use it for fun or funds as they see fit.
Recycling today so some of the junk will go- still lots to go through. Suddenly being a 'one' has certainly focused the mind on all the justin stuff, and the huge amount of rubbish which accumulates when you're not looking .
Hugs and spoons as always

Hi everyone,
Mehefin, your son will thank you for your hard work now. We've cleared out a lot since the family came to live with us. It's all been replaced by their stuff though.
Steve seems to have caught my bug so has pulled out of his golf competition. Chris rang to say they think Nate has hand, foot and mouth so I don't know what will happen on Thursday when we're supposed to be looking after him.
Today is Esther day. She's being at her cutest.
Have a good day.11 -
I know what you mean Derek ,I look at things and wonder why I kept them ,then can’t bring myself to throw some of it away .
My son said ‘Don’t worry Mum I’ll just get a skip ‘! Funnily that helps me to move somethings on .
It’s hard
had quite a good week in Northumberland but suddenly developed a cold on Sunday evening ,after feeling increasingly grim ,I tested yesterday evening and yes Covid has finally got me !Never had it before, have had all the vaccines offered so hopefully it won’t last long !8
