Roof Valley Crack - Aquashield vs Patch

We have a crack in the valley between two roofs (20 year old extension).  The crack is not long ways but across.

I have been quoted £400 including VAT by a roofing company to patch it (replacing the whole valley I have no idea of the cost but I expect it is substantial) and £240 by another roofer (one man band) to Aquashield it.

I've been doing a bit of research and it seems this Aquashield, £25 a tin, seems more suitable for flat roofs etc.

Obviously I would like to save money but I want a decent long lasting repair.

Please can anyone advise?  I know nothing about roofs.

Not as many people comment on posting made in this subsection. And those that do are not always here 24/7. Anyways....

Aquashield is (in my opinion) OK for emergency and temporary repairs. For a small crack in a valley, it should last long enough for you to save up and make plans for a long term repair.
£240 just to slap a £23 can of sealant on sounds rather expensive though.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
  • After doing some research about Aquashield, we went with a patch in the end and as it took only an hour price reduced to £168 including VAT.
