We missed the turning for short stay parking at Heathrow airport and drove through the drop off zone. Didnt stop in it; (the PCN shows I entered at 4.27.37 and exited at 4.28.43).
However, I've read several people have ended up paying the charge because they simply drove through. I want to appeal as the registered keeper and will not name the driver.
Can someone direct me to the best template.

The standard appeal text is in the NEWBIE Sticky (with all the other advice you might need). Also read other airport drop-off threads especially the group thread for Heathrow/Gatwick drop-off.0

Quite a lot of the regulars are "oldies"! Anyway if you have found the NEWBIE sticky scroll from the beginning and you will find an appeal written in blue text, which is the standard appeal. However, for airports there are well used appeals that work. Read this thread: -

Your best bet is to read the thread that @Le_Kirk has directed you towards.
