Hi
I know the main advice would be to see an IFA but due to the circumstances my head is all over the place
I’m due to receive a large amount of money from a death in service payment , a large 7 figure sum - I obviously want to keep it safe
I am 55 , not working , 3 adult children in uni , small pension that’s not been touched

No mortgage or debt, Isa’s and Lisa’s maxed out for all
I obviously want to spend some when circumstances allow but what do I in the mean time ? Split it across several accounts , give a large sum to the children, bung it in ns&i for now ? Some will be going to charity .
Just want simple and safe

This - if you're overwhelmed at the moment then focus on keeping the money safe for now, until you can take proper advice.DwayneDibley99 said:due to the circumstances my head is all over the place

I think your idea to use an IFA is a good one. No need to hurry, put it in NS&I for now, where it's safe. When the time is right you can talk through your options with the IFA.2
