Good morning, it's a dry start here. Yesterday was ok, but chilly though.
We visited a friend yesterday, she has a daughter living near DH's brother in the south west, where we are going today. She'd asked us to take some things down to her daughter, so we went to collect them from her.
Then it was a quick trip to Tosco, by then it was lunchtime.
Spent the rest of the day organising our things that we're taking, and doing a bit of housework.
We are coming home on Friday, so not much is needed.
Hope everyone has a good day - glad Mr Fix it had good news Nanny.
Thoughts to anyone who is sad or poorly.
Take care folks.

Morning all, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. It’s so kind of you to collect and deliver stuff for a friend.Lunch was really good yesterday. For the first time in what seems years I had a roast dinner, a very tasty pork loin and the extras whilst my friend had sea bass. Because I wasn’t driving I indulged in two glasses of wine. 🫢
Now I’m about to go down for breakfast. Later I’m meeting another old friend of my late DM’s for coffee and catch up before heading home.I hope that all are well and safe.14 -
Morning allThanks for starting us off Scarlet. Enjoy your trip, Gers enjoy your coffee morning! After an unhappy divorce 8 or so years ago my son's 2 daughters only contact him by phone now and again and I'm texted thank yous for christmas and birthday presents so was very surprised yesterday to get a message from the eldest telling me I'm going to be a great-grandmother!!! I felt old before, I feel ancient now!! Who knows if this might bring us together. Will have to wait and see.Off to large shopping centre today to see if I can get any ideas for the 'C' word presents.Have a good day all x13

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET/ Have a lovely and safe trip to the south west. A long drive ahead. GERS safe journey back home. CHRISCA fingers crossed the baby news reunites the family.
The sun looks to be ready to rise above the moors and it's not a bad forecast for the day ahead. Similar to yesterday although it felt bloomin' cold.
We all enjoyed our breakfast out yesterday and ate far too much. Restraint will be needed today to repair the damage!
We had a little supermarket trawl afterwards and I was rather pleased when I spotted a big snuggly dressing gown to replace the dog eared ancient one that as got dragged out every winter. It must be at least 10 years old! It was bought off Leeds market for a pittance. An M & S second, so owes me nothing.
I seem to have quite a big to do list for today, starting with changing my bed. Whether the bedding will get pegged outside remains to be seen. Not much in the way of cooking to do today as I have the gammon joint cooked overnight Saturday to start on and I made a big pan of Pea and Ham soup with the stock, so that will be my lunch.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Mondays seem to roll around quickly.Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.I am enjoying my hermit-like life while I crack through a huge ‘make’ list for my craft business. It’s a busy time of year and never easy to gauge how much stock is needed for craft fairs. I should probably also try and do some house chores though they’re firmly at the bottom of my list.Completely emptied the log store yesterday with some help from DDad, cleaned restacked and organised including rehoming a few worms and a very sleepy butterfly.Hope everyone has a good week

Morning, thanks for starting us Scarlet, enjoy your trip to the south west.
Gers, safe journey home.
Chrisca, hope it improves relations with the family, it sounds hopeful if she messaged you.
Wet start to the day, I got up for a comfort break about 5am and heard it raining, so no surprise.
Yesterday's gammon was delicious, all the better because we haven't had it for a while. I only bought a small joint for the two of us but theres enough left over for a sandwich lunchtime (salad for me) and good old egg, chips and ham tonight.
Dont know what's happening today apart from dog walking. Big dog now has a friend, a 4 month old German Shepherd puppy. They are so excited to see each other and play for ages, which is lovely as theres a lot of small dogs around here that he doesn't get a chance to play with, they just tend to yap at him.
Time for a cuppa before the wet walk.
Love and hugs to all who need them, have a good day x11 -
Morning all
Its a horrid morning here with rain lashing against the windows and it’s still quite dark, OH went out to work early this morning only to return after a short while he had been rained off for the day which he was quite pleased about.
Just Rob coming today the other lady is sick again, I can’t remember the last time I saw her ! It was Robs Birthday yesterday so we are meeting some friends and having lunch out, I have bought him a flat cap, we tried one on him in the shop and he looked so lovely in it that I had to buy it.
Dinner tonight will be the soup I made the other day with cheese and ham toasties there is also some crumble left from yesterday, my mum and DD’s young man both cancelled coming for dinner yesterday so we have enough left for another roast tomorrow which is a bonus.
I need to hoover through this morning and have a quick tidy.
Have a great trip Scarlett xxx
Chrisca congratulations let’s hope the baby brings the family closer xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, nice bright day so far + no rain forecast. Enjoy your trip Scarlet, safe journey.Yesterday we went to Bee+Q, looking at paint and tiles, we've decided on a little revamp in the kitchen.Picked up some charts, then carried on to the tile place DH uses at work & ordered some from there. It's only the splash back behind the hob so not too onerous. I think DS will have to do the painting, or at least the ceiling. We renewed all the bulbs in the kitchen part too, down lighter type- what a difference! They last so long you don't realise how much dimmer they get.I need a big tidy in the kitchen today, clear some stuff away etc.Your Sunday meals are making me hungry now, we had a mini rack of lamb from the butchers which was a special treat .AA we need to do our log store too, DS has taken over some of it for his car parts. We need the chimney swept too.Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy your trip away. Great that you can help your friend out with deliveries.
Chilly this morning but the sun is rising and it's set to be a lovely day. Yesterday was surprisingly good, washing dried outside and the bulb planting done in fine weather - we had a good turn out and I got to meet quite a few new folk.
I had the little one overnight on Saturday, by the time she had finished at her party and we got home and had tea it was bathtime, stories and bed where she fell asleep within 5 minutes. She slept for 11 hours so must have been exhausted and woke up full of beans again. Her Mum and Dad came to help with the bulbs and stayed for lunch so a lovely day all in.
Happy Birthday to Rob, bet he looks smashing in his cap Ruby.
Great news Chrisca, hopefully you will have more contact now.
Glad you enjoyed your brunch TA.
Sounds like a good foodie few days for you Gers, safe travels home.
So happy to hear Mr Fix It's good results Nanny.
I'm off to Glasgow later for a friend/colleague's 60th birthday meal so will go a bit earlier for a look around John Lewis - my favourite shop!
Hope you are all well and have a good Monday. Take care. XX

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarlet
TA hope yesterday was good memories
Gers enjoy your time away
Chrisca congratulations
Slept better last night, probably because I didn't sleep at all the night before. I hate laying awake in bed for hours, so got up about 3.30 am. Tried not to sleep all day.
Torrential rain this morning, don't feel like doing much, maybe a jigsaw.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning everyone
The sun is shining here, there was a hard frost when I woke up though. Yesterday was lovely too - I got two loads of washing dry and cleared out my shed, chucked some bits in the bin and put everything back a lot tidier.
I have an electric bike which I haven't used for ages, since before I got Long Covid, I took it out and tried to charge the battery but it didn't work, I probably should have taken it off the bike when it wasn't
being used. I'll probably just leave it for now as I won't be using it till Spring time now. Last time I tried going down to work on it, my legs were too achy to ride it.
Little one got really upset last night and was refusing to go to school this morning, I spoke to her on the phone but didn't manage to convince her. I can't remember if I said but they forgot to give her her medication on Thursday morning so her blood sugars dropped and she ended up feeling awful for the rest of the day and into Friday. She stayed at home with DD on Friday. Anyways, DD texted to say she had slept for 12 hours last night and got up and put her school uniform on this morning - DD has put an alarm on the phone little one has with her for her blood sugars, so hopefully everything will be fine. She is just doing mornings again this week as she is still needing an afternoon nap.
Right I'd better get on with some jobs. DD gave me a huge bag of outgrown clothes to put on Vinted and I have one item of mine to parcel up and post on my way to work.
Chrisca - lovely news for you, hopefully it will mean you'll get to see the baby when they're born. I felt ancient when I became a great auntie!
Hope everyone has a good day today x10
