Bathroom Sink Tap Faulty after 18 Months.

I had my bathroom refurbished in April 2023 and the bathroom sink tap has started to leak slightly from the top.
I got in touch with the company who did the work and they will come and have a look.
However they have said Tap out of warranty but we can try and repair it.
The company who fitted the tap supplied the tap.
Yet when t go to the tap manufacture's web site the tap has a 10 year warranty.
Should the fitting company repair or replace the tap for free?

Should the fitting company repair or replace the tap for free?Under consumer rights, as it's over 6 months the onus will be on you to show the tap had a fault present at manufacture that has only just shown itself now.As for the 10 year tap warranty, is that for a consumer purchase rather then a business to business purchase?0 -
It is for a consumer purchase

What does the warranty actually say?
Does it say they will replace the tap if it leaks for any reason during that 10 years or does it say they will replace if a manufacturing fault?
A common reason for premature tap dripping is copper swarf from poor practice when the tap is fitted. If it is due to swarf, then replacing the cartridge is an easy fix for the company who installed it.0
